In the busy Zhongshan streetscape, we wanted to create more than a pop-up shop — a place where people can instantly quiet down and rest in the heart of the city.
This is a reimagining of architectural aesthetics and Studio Doe’s social invitation to everyone who pursues an elevated life.
Reconstruct | Reframing Zhongshan, reshaping a tranquil sensory landmark
Breaking PPP’s previous pure-white art-space image, the original architecture is fully enveloped with large-scale textile textures and soft matte earth tones. When you push the door open, outside noise is instantly absorbed by the substantial drapery.
The space’s tones descend from the light beige of 1F to the deep brown layers of B1 — a sensory cleansing that helps you rediscover a focused appreciation for beauty in this “tranquil landmark.”
The Doe Lounge | A shared exchange space for stylish people
If the venue is the body, the 1F lounge is its soulful core.
We’ve dissolved the distance of retail spaces to create an intimate, home-like social setting. We invite you to sit freely and feel the lively rabbit-ear curves of the SANAA Armless Chair, the classic aesthetics woven by the Eames Wire Chair’s steel frame, and the forward-thinking, sustainable design language of WASTED by Potato Head.
Here, iconic design is everyday life — we hope you linger, converse, and join a pressure-free aesthetic gathering surrounded by masterful furniture in a tranquil atmosphere.
